The curriculum of the Dispensing Opticianry programme is based on the philosophy that the programme shall in co-operation with other Departments in related field, produce competent, skilled and versatile Opticians capable of facing the task of delivering appropriate professional eye-care services, manpower, materials, machinery and other aspects of vision care industry needed in the area of their jurisdiction as been stipulated by the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians' Registration Board of Nigeria (ODORBN).
The Dispensing Opticianry programme will follow the School of Dispensing Opticianry Practical experience as it relates to each profession and the Supervised Ophthalmic
Laboratory Experience (SOLE) which are student centered, society oriented, and problem solving. Students will be exposed to the most modern technology, techniques and tools in the art of ophthalmic dispensing. The programme shall train graduates with sound scientific and professional knowledge and skills to work within and outside Nigeria.
